Another day of thinking about our ideas of control. I’ve been inclined to say that control is an illusion, but have realized that by turning our attention inward and healing our minds we actually gain control.
But the control from within is a different type of control. It is contradictory to what we’ve been taught. Along with our linear experience of life, we’ve been taught the linear idea of control, “Do this and that will happen.” And when it doesn’t, we often give up. Which is why change is so painful. We want to control change so we can have an experience without having to endure losses for gains.
If we embrace the orderly outward reality for what it is, and begin to practice using our minds once again. It will become obvious, rather quickly, that the flow of change is not linear. It is a beautiful morphing of a shape you have never seen.
I’m beginning to see that it is the goal in our minds which matters. The one which resonates deeply within us. And everything in between are the most spectacular emotions the world has ever seen.
