Rewrite! The Ego’s Script

I caught myself asking myself some pretty basic questions the other morning. Literally the moment I started to settle into my mind and get ready for the answer to something (I perceived) as a bit harder of a question, my glasses slid off the pillow next to me and hit me in the face. I experienced my common emotions – I was startled at first, then I was frustrated, then I started consciously saying to myself, in stark opposition to my meditative mind, “Why does something always comes along at exactly the moment I was getting somewhere?!”

And wouldn’t cha know, I got the answer to that tough question, instead. The ego. It seems as though The Universe is so well programmed to manifest distractions at times of pivotal change simply because our ego’s language is embedded. And the “ego’s language” is just a different way of saying “the pattern of repetitive thought in our conscious minds.”

Our ego’s/conscious thoughts have been repeated so many times that they have become deeply embedded and just keep spitting out the reality which coincides with them. Looking at it this way makes it easier to see that reality has been programmed well ahead of time to keep us on the right, safe, and at times outdated track. No wonder we have to work so hard to make changes. We can’t just toss out old thought patterns and replace them with new ones. We have to embed over what’s already in there. We have to make the conscious effort to create new patterns which will eventually cause the old ones to fall dormant and eventually go extinct. I say “extinct” because they will always have been there, they are just no longer active.

So now that you know that it is your ego which gets embedded you can begin to rewrite the script.
