Painfully Clever

distractions, memory, remember, irony, meditation

We always have the option to distract our minds with a game of *insert whatever with friends*. But we should take a moment to realize that distracting ourselves from what’s repeating in our minds just puts us a little further from knowing and embracing who we truly are. Which also adds another layer of “darkness” to work through.

If we could just observe our thoughts, no matter how uncomfortable, we could begin to see their pattern. We would see that there is wisdom to be gained from our discomfort. We just have to listen to what we don’t want to hear. But that’s not easy. So instead of searching for how to improve upon our minds, which will invariably improve our life’s interactions, we seek to forget, by reaching for games we are told will help keep our minds sharp. Games that will help us remember.
