It wasn’t very long ago when I had a thought amidst my twilight sleep. For those who care to truly ponder it, it was profound. Simply, “Your demons are the souls of the skeletons in your closet.” Give that some thought for just a moment. *Pause*
Simply put, the things which scare you, haunt you, and punish you are remnants of past events which you have neatly tucked away. I wish I could tell you what to do with those old bones filling up your mind’s closet, but it would be naive for me to say that my answers are your answers. It is a journey you must take on your own, one I can only hope to inspire.
Late last night I took a journey back to my thought about the demons which haunt me and was inspired to write this short poem. Perhaps it will inspire you, perhaps it will simply draw your attention away from the isolation which you are facing. Whatever these strung together words create for you, I hope it is one of inspiration to use this time wisely, so when we emerge we can each approach our lives with a new found purpose, with new and better habits which not only help you individually, but create simple gestures of inspired kindness which will ripple throughout the world. We all see how quickly a virus spreads, and it begins with just one person. Now imagine how quickly your positive inspiration can spread. Use your inspiration wisely, treat it like a virus, and spread it all over the world.
